The
Meetings
of the Waters
The meeting point of the Rivers Avonmore and
Avonbeg was immortalised almost 200 years ago by the
poet, Thomas Moore. Here on a rustic seat, formed
from the root of a tree, Moore is said to have
written the words of the Irish Melody, “The Meeting
of the Waters”.
The adjacent pub, The Meetings is a famous
landmark renowned for outdoor traditional music. |
